I tried a number of current Norelco models and they're frequently on the wimpy side. One was so weak that it would pull hair right out of my face instead of cutting it. This Wahl model is on the other extreme. Just trimmed my heard and cut my lip a little bit on the blades. Probably only the second time that's ever happened with a trimmer. Wahl Makes Best Trimmers
I have been using a Wahl beard trimmer for nearly 6 years. It finally started to show its age and I went looking for a new one. I tried Remington brand, and they just did not work for me. I have very thick, stubborn hair and the Remmington's blades did not get close enough to my skin to get the hairs I wanted. So I went back to what I knew worked, and re-ordered a new Wahl Beard Trimmer. This one is very similar to my old one, except a few new things. There are more blade guards than before, and the clipper setting now has 6 stages instead of 5. Otherwise, the trimmer is the same.And that is a good thing. Immediately, the new Wahl made a difference and I am very happy with the results. The reason why Wahl is so much better than anything else (including the Remington) is that the blades that move back and forth as so much closer the to the guard teeth that you can see the difference. Go to a store and look...you can see the difference between this trimmer and other...

Great product, great price
Pros:Price.Charges quickly, and stays charged afterward for some time.Gives a great trim, nice and neat and no pulling. Has all the attachments you'll ever need.Easy to maintain and clean up.Cons:Attachment system could be a little better, a little tough to get on and off without some practice. They do work great and are easy to use once on, however.Bottom line:Great trimmer for a great price, you can't go wrong here. Can use it with the cord or without and works great either way, this thing will last you forever. I'm really happy I picked this one up out of the crowd of trimmers I looked at.

AWESOME BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!
For the cheap cost of this trimmer, you can't go wrong! I love it, the battery lasts long, it comes with tons of clips and the one adjustable 5 setting clip and it's a very nice package for it's price. Very comfy and a nice grip, I look forward to trimming now that I have this wonderful trimmer in my life. I really don't think you can go wrong with this purchase!P.S. I buy a lot of stuff at amazon.com and I NEVER review it, I suppose it's cause I think it's "too out of the way" to do, but I love this product so much that it was time to change that!

Is it worth it?
Answer is, yes, it is worth it. The best haircutter/razor I have ever owned. Half the size of regular haircutters, but twice the power and versatility. No joke. Doesn't pull hair, and gives a clean, smooth cut, that is very close and even good for sensitive skin like mine is. I use it for cutting beards and also for cutting hair, and it works excellent for both. I don't think I'm ever going to buy a cheap/crappy one ever again. Seriously, once I used this one the very first time, my old Remington haircutter (which was only one year old and already falling apart) went immediately into the trash can. I'm sure you will do the same with whatever old haircutter you have if you buy this one or the TOL (most expensive) WAHL if you can afford that one, which I can't yet but if this one ever goes out I will probably buy this one again or the Top-O-the-Line one that WAHL also makes that is about twice this cost. Purchased this clipper because I have rather dense facial hair that grows quite rapidly, and I am occasionally not quite as diligent about shaving as I should be. Hence, I can end up with some inconveniently-long growth on my face, beyond what my shaver can effectively remove. I've gone through three less-expensive rechargeable trimmers, it seems that it's always the batteries that go, usually three or four months in.So far I've had this one perhaps three weeks, and it serves my needs very well. It cuts cleanly and quickly, with a minimum of noise and fuss. No heating, excessive vibration, or loud noise. For the money, I'd say it was a very good value indeed. Great clipper
The Wahl trimmer is very very good. So good that you have to be careful how you angle the blades to your skin because it can nick you. Very little irritation from using the trimmer. I use it mostly to help with shaving and trimming my mustache. But it can be used for many other things. It comes with convenient 3 blade attachments if you don't want to cut the hair as close. I've used andis for many years now and I wanted to try something new because it kept getting damaged and used to get extremely hot. I was very skeptical before purchasing the Wahl Detailed Trimmer and I must say that it is definitely the best I've tried and the handle never gets hot. Top to learn more

Low Cost and Effective!
I am a lifetime beard grower, and have had many different trimmers, and I happen to by a Wahl one day, and its outlasted all my other big name trimmers, and i totally mistreated it and abused it, and it still trims like a dream.So I decided when i was looking to update my trimming kit to look at some Wahl Timmers, and i was not dissapointed, its plastic and feels lite but it does the job, and it does it the first time. It comes with everything i needed, and the cradle held everything pretty well. The instructions included are very useful as well.I would recommend this if your looking for a budget trimmer, I bought a wahl as a back up, cheap trimmer, and its become my primary trimmer.++This is not a shaver, i think people are confusing this for a different job, This is made to trim, maintain, and sculpt a beard or mustache. low battery life
As far as the quality of the trimmer, you get what you pay for. I had a wahl trimmer for about 10 years that was plastic, but it was great. This one is cheap plastic that feels like its going to fall apart. The main drawback is that is sucks that battery life up fast. The first batteries i put in were cheap, so i upgraded to quality batteries with little difference. I use it every other day and i say batteries will last maybe a month if you dont mind the pulling when the batteries get worn down. Top to learn more

Hefty, powerful motor
I bought this today after reading reviews that it has a powerful motor. I usually get a #2 on the side, and #5 on top. I haven't had a haircut in 4 months, so my hair was a long and thick. This clipper cut right through it, no problems. Only bogged down twice.This is the first time I cut my own hair. It turned out as good as the barber. This comes with good instructions, and links to Wahl's website with videos showing how to give different haircuts. It says to start with a thick guide. But, since I knew I always get #2 and #5, I did that, using #3 & 4 to blend the side and top. Turned out fine.I usually pay $15 (including tip), but save money by delaying haircuts for 3-4. If this thing lasts 2-3 years, I'm going to save $120-$180. Plus, I'll cut my hair more often.For the price, I'm impressed with the quality of the clipper. It's heavy and the motor feels powerful. A Product that works well and costs little
I am a college student, and I bought these hair clippers so I wouldn't have to mess with finding a barber who I can trust to cut my own hair. I had no experience whatsoever with cutting hair, and I've found that it is really easy with these clippers. They come with a number of different attachments that makes the very easy to use without worrying about completely ruining my hair. They also have instructions which aid in learning how to cut, and a nice plastic cape so you don't get hair all over yourself.Everything works properly, and it works well. Nice for the price
I bought this kit to replace a Wahl "Designer" which developed a problem after about 10 years of home haircutting and would have cost more to fix than this kit cost me as a replacement.The clipper is quiet and works well. It gives the impression of a lot of power in reserve, and doesn't heat up in the hand. I was pleasantly surprised by the left and right angled guide combs used for the ears, which are included in the kit. They made that part of the haircut really easy. After years of cutting my hair with only the straight guide combs that came with my old clippers, I didn't think I would use them, but I tried them once and I'm very happy I did. They're great, and if you bought them separately, they would go for about half the price of the kit, making the kit a bargain.The clipper itself is intended for home use and feels like it, unlike my old one, which felt a bit more heavy-duty. Just like the pros... I think...
I have been through three of the 'rechargeable' trimmer/clippers over the last few years. They work well in the beginning, but the power, which leaves you wanting to begin with, fades over time with cycling of the battery and eventually they die. As expensive as the good ones are ($40-$90), it is cost prohibitive to repair them, so they get chucked into the trash and a new one is purchased. I was tired of throwing my money away and for years I have admired the heavy duty looking trimmers I have always (and I mean forever) seen used by hair professionals. They look like they are indestructible. I also equated the quality with cost and assumed that as a tool of a trade they would demand a steep fee to acquire one.Well whaddaya know? The Wahl is a very similar version and it is half the price of the rechargeables... it works better, smoother and with less effort.... comes with a veritable toolchest of attachments including some combs, a scissors and would you believe it even... Sturdy, Quality trimmer
I have now used the clippers a couple of times and can say that they are a great product. It was very sturdy in my hand and felt like a professional quality trimmer. There was no jamming or binding of the clippers - it glided through my hair with no problems (although I do have fairly thin hair, hence I cut it very short). I only used the trimmer and not any of the attachments - I cut my hair very short using the blade only and no length guide - so I can't comment on those. However, I must agree with other posters that the case could use some work - all of the pieces pretty much fly around loose in the case and there really isn't a good way to store everthing. Wahl should have designed the case differently, so that there would be a place to put each accessory (kind of like how a CD binder works). Again, this doesn't affect me much since I don't use the attachments. I highly recommend these clippers and would recommend to a friend in the market for doing their own trimming at... Excellent! Very Complete Set
I began cutting my hair about a year ago and was using my old oster from costco that was maybe 5-7 years old. I had a lot of broken guards and the blades were starting to make a lot of noise. I did some research and found these to be a decent set for the price. It has so many guards and the clipper itself cuts really solidly. I like the extra trimmer to cut the sideburns. I cut my hair every 2 or 3 weeks now and have no worries that it isnt cutting evenly. If it does cut unevenly its my fault! Overall im very satisfied and would buy it again.
