Here are some helpful tips!
I love Splat and I have been using it for over a year. I've tried just about every brand of purple hair dye, and this is by far the best! It lasts for about 4 months on my hair and then fades to a lavender that is very pretty--I like it even better than the initial color! My natural hair color is a medium ash blonde, and I've never had to bleach it, the Splat just covers it right up. I know lots of people like special effects, but this color is much stronger and lasts a lot longer, and it is very gentle on your hair without any damage or stripping. I've applied Splat "lusty lavender" about 8 times, and here are my "pro tips":1) The color will change in intensity depending on how much product you put in your hair during dying. If you don't put in enough goo, it will turn out very light. I think the reviewers who got a pink color just didn't use enough product. If you use a ton of it, it will be very dark and deep. Don't listen to the one star reviews
I bought the Blue Envy lot, along with a brown hair dye.I dyed my hair brown, the next day, I started the process, yes the process of dying my hair blue.I scheduled (Yes, I am that much of a nerd) myself to start dying my hair at 2pm, it is now like 8pm. I bleached the front section (The whole front of my head) and the bleach was more than enough. It was hardly runny, it was not thick, it was the perfect consistency. I let it sit for about 45 minutes (I have really thin hair). I washed it out, conditioned with color protection conditioner.I then carefully started to dye my hair blue CAREFULLY. With latex gloves I bought. With Vaseline along the hair line. And then patiently waited ~an hour. Washed it out CAREFULLY, with paper towels in the sink.I was not stained too badly, besides being dumb and running my hand through my hair before it was completely washed out. Worth the purchase
The bleach didn't work for beans, but the hair dye was very intense and brilliant. I thought it would be muddy like the manic panic colors but it's much more vibrant. I've had it in my hair for about a month now and it's still going strong.

My Favorite Pink
I used to use Flamingo Pink back in the '90s when it was distributed by Manic Panic. I'm not sure how Jerome Russell became owner of it but it is still fantastic and my favorite pink dye.The color starts out a very dark pink and gradually lightens as you wash it. Always wash your hair in cold water so the color will several last weeks and stay vibrant. Of course the color shows up more intense if you bleach your hair before applying.To avoid staining wear gloves when applying and wet down the shower before and after washing hair so it won't stain the shower. Rinse your hair well in cold water so it won't stain your pillowcase.Edit: I just wanted to mention that this color is one of the longest lasting of the Punky Colours. I change out my color every five weeks and it is always still very vibrant and hard to bleach out. It really shocked my hairstylist how well the color held.

Love This!
I just did one little streak in my hair and it looks great! The color is very bright (I have dark-ish blonde hair and I didn't bleach it) I opened up the little jar and it smelled like grape popsicles! It does stain anything and everything so you have to be very careful. I didn't have a problem with it staining my pillowcases or anything, I just make sure my hair is dry before I let it touch anything. Overall I love this product and will definitely buy it again!

nice pink
At first seeing the jar of this i thought something was wrong, maybe a color switch up, because the label was much darker than another tub of flamingo pink that i had ordered before. When i used the color i saw that there was no mix up jus something different about the color of the label. The dye was a vibrant but deep pink, eventually fades into a brighter pink with more washes. Also it smells really good too it has a grape or berry scent.

Great product...
I wish I had pictures to prove just how awesome this product really is. I Bleached my hair first, since its verrrry dark, and then actually used a different product the first time around. This other dye was more expensive and lasted only a week, and was very faded on the first wash anyways.Then I tried Special effects. Atomic pink is probably my favorite dye out of all of them. The dye sticks to hair batter and the color is soooo vibrant. I'm in love with it.Warning: This dye will wreck your world if you spill it on any surface that's not atomic pink already. It'll stain your tub, the counter, the sink, you hands, your head...etc.

best pink hair dye available!
i have been using this product for 4 years, and i wish the company would hire me as advertising, because i have had many people ask me what i use, and i highly recommend special effects atomic pink. if you bleach your hair, this color lasts so long! i suggest washing your hair with cool to cold water if you want this to last even longer. mixing one part water and one part white vinegar and pouring it over your hair before rinsing out the dye keeps the color in longer by changing the ph level in your hair too. i LOVE this hair color!

tis really atomic
I've used this stuff a few times and I have to say it's my favourite. It's so bright, it lasts FOREVER, and it supposedly glows under blacklight too but I haven't seen that yet. I dyed my hair about a month ago and people keep asking me, "did you recolour your hair?" because it is still THAT bright.The last time I dyed my hair with this, I had to dye my hair black a few months later while I was looking for a job. After a couple of months, the black was starting to fade, and the pink was still there-- with the faded black, it was a lovely burgundy shade. A few months after that (about 9 months since I initially dyed it pink), I bleached my hair because I wanted bright colour again, and the pink was STILL there, albeit much lighter.Untouched, atomic pink will start to fade after a few months, but it will NEVER go away. Maybe that's what makes it atomic?

the floor scrubbing was worth it
I bought this the first time last month. I had too much hair for the two little cans to handle, but I liked what I saw.The colour was so vibrant and went well with my intended costume. I logged that in order to cover my full head I'd have to but three cans instead of two.Problem was, I was spitting pink and after being outside (it's cold) my nose also ran pink. I'm definitely acquiring a dust mask.When I got home, I spent a good hour cleaning my small bathroom. Everything was pink- some things still are pink (from oversight, not staining).But the colour washed right out on the first wash like it's supposed to. I ordered more, and I'm doing the costume again for a party, this time with shorter and thinner(layered) hair. I'll offer some pictures, maybe, if I get any.

Fun
This stuff really turns your hair bright pink, and even though its kind of splotchy, it looks great. You must spray this stuff in a well ventilated area. It doesn't say to do that on the bottle, so the first time I used it, I sprayed it on my hair inside my house and ended up coughing pink goo. It was scary! Use this stuff outside.

good coverage, just one issue
Really good coverage - my hair was pink with little effort.Only one real issue with it - pink dust gets EVERYWHERE, wherever you spray it. Though with the blue and the purple I ordered there was a *little* colored dust, the pink created a veritable cloud of pink that got on and in everything around where the stuff was sprayed.Do NOT spray this indoors, and if you do, make sure you have a ventilation fan running and a dust mask on. Otherwise, you're guaranteed to inhale pink.Still, amazing color!

Awesome color!
This particular Manic Panic color fades slower than many of the other colors and comes out really intense. As long as you bleach your hair beforehand, the color will turn out amazing. Even when the color starts to fade, it won't look tacky whatsoever. I would definitely recommend it!

Lots of Fun
Just for reference, the photo shown is NOT the fuschia color. Fuschia comes in a bright pinkish-purple (ie, fuschia) box and leaves the same color in your hair. I have very long, naturally dark brown hair. You get a ton of color in the box for highlighting (not an all-over color, though if you have short hair you could probably get away with that). The wand is a little tough with long curly hair as it can get tangled if you're not careful.Make sure when applying that you put enough on that you can SEE the color on your hair strands. If you can't see the color, there's not enough on and you might not get a bright result. It's pretty good at not "spreading" when you put the strand down on your head to move to another part.Even after the color washes out, you're left with some nice highlights. Much better for your hair than bleaching pieces out and putting in temporary dyes. It's also much easier since it's done in one step, not a messy bleach-then-color...

Amazing Long-Lasting Color
This is the first hair dye I ever used, and it's amazing stuff. It's really easy to apply and doesn't have an overbearing odor. I love the fact that I don't have to bleach my hair before using Colour Rays. I have really dark, coarse hair, and in just thirty minutes the color took, and the fuschia came out a beautiful, bright raspberry shade! It seems to work with my hair's natural shine, and actually shines in the sun, so my hair doesn't look like a cheap wig. Colour Rays didn't dry my hair out either.I dyed my hair about 9 weeks ago, and although the color has faded to a deep burgundy, it is still very noticeable and has retained a lovely shine. Since I wash my hair every day, I'm impressed that the color stayed in for so long.I have a few stay gray hairs, and this dye did absolutely nothing to them, so if you have a lot of gray, don't bother getting Colour Rays. You'll just be wasting your money.This is a great product, and I highly recommend it!
