Amazing, Wonderful, Fantastic product
This stuff is absolutely wonderful. I have been using Hennalucent Sunset Glo on my hair for about 18 years. I was so upset when I was told it was being discontinued. I've never used anything else. I also knew that I couldn't use any other type of color on my hair since you're not supposed to use conventional color products over henna. I did some research. After reading some of the bad reviews, I was very hesitant in trying this color, but I figured what the heck, if I don't like it. I just won't buy it again.I just finished using it for the very first time and .. I LOVE IT. I have no idea what the bad reviews are about, maybe just peoples inability of reading instructions.I have very long curly and dry hair ( reddish blonde), that I have been chemically coloring forEVER. Easy process, perfect results
When I heard about non-red hennas, I did research and choose Light Mountain as my test because they seem to be the only brand with a specific process and blend for covering gray hair. I started at 7:30 this morning and was done by 10am. I heated heated bottled water in the microwave and added it to the Step 1 powder with a scrabbled egg (the egg isn't in the directions but was recommended by a friend for stickiness). I applied with gloved hands and left that on for 30 mins then rinsed well. Then I heated more water to mix the second bag of powder (next time I'll prep both at the same time). I again added an egg and just applied with my gloved hands. This time after I piled it onto my head I covered it with the included plastic cap. I answered email, cooked breakfast, and did laundry for about an hour and then rinsed again. When the water ran clear I applied a diluted Apple Cider Vinegar rinse and then dried my hair normally. Give This a Chance!
I have always covered my gray with over the counter products, but I hated using such harsh chemicals, as they stung my scalp and the fumes were irritating. I tried Light Mountain Natural and found it much more cumbersome to apply than the others, but I cannot believe how much healthier my hair has been since I have been using this product. After reading about the dangers of chemical hair dyes and realizing that some of the cancers that are attached to those chemicals have run in my family, I decided to not risk my health when it was unnecessary. I began researching natural alternatives to dying my hair dark and kept running into henna. I was very,very,very apprehensive about using the henna. Excellent product and alternative to chemical processing.I have dark dark brown hair. I have tried regular henna before but it made my hair very red. This product is still mostly henna and applies the same way but is a good match for my dark brown hair. It's great - have used it for years
Don't be deterred by the person who hasn't tried this yet. I've used Light Mountain henna for almost 20 years - the last five with the color the gray formulas. You do NOT need distilled water, a ceramic cup or a paint brush or a squirt bottle. Prep takes 5 minutes, not 1-3 hours. One thing, it does stain your skin, so if you don't use a lotion around your hairline, you might see some staining for a day or two.This stuff really does color the gray. The nice thing about henna is it doesn't give you "helmet head" with monochromatic color. The gray will take on the color of the henna more than your brown/black, etc. hair. This stuff is great!!!
I was really scared to try this . . . my hair dresser told me horror stories of bad henna hair color. But, I am preggers, and did not want the chemicals - but tired of looking at my grey! Wow! I'm never going back to chemical dyes!
I've just used the Auburn shade Light Mountain henna kit and I couldn't be more pleased! My hair used to be the color of a new penny, but since stray white hairs have been making an unwelcome invasion on my head, I've been using various hair dyes and was none too thrilled with the process or the outcome. Great alternative to nasty chemicals
I used this product and the red henna with the fox on the box mixed together on my dark brown hair. It's great - it's fun to mix the product and use add-ins. I used raw apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and cinnamon the last time I tinted my hair with Light Mountain. Note that this product will not lighten your hair, but will add lovely highlights and more of a stain on your hair. The effect gets more dramatic the longer you keep the product on your hair.If you have a gray hair here or there, it will turn a vibrant shade of red after you apply henna. This looks great if you only have a few, but if you have a lot, the company recommends you use their Color the Gray Line. An utter mess but worth it
I have been using henna from this company for a long, long time. I am getting more and more gray, but I use their regular product which is a lot simpler to use. You just mix it with hot distilled water and put it on.This one comes with two pouches---one you mix with hot distilled water and let sit an hour and the second one you mix with hot distilled water and let set 3 or four hours.This is the best way to put it on---and believe me, I have tried the paint brush and tried the mustard bottles. Natural hair color that works for me
Because of allergy to many perfumes and common cosmetic ingredients, I tried Light Mountain Color the Gray.
