very happy customer
I have owned this dryer for about 6 months, and it is the best one I've ever had. It makes my hair so soft, silky, and bouncy--just like when I get my hair done at the Dominican salons with a blow out. I have very thick, course, Afro-American hair, and I've always hated blow drying my hair. It always turned out very dry and brittle--until I used this dryer (or went to the salon). I found it at Target for under $25, and it's definitely one of the best hair products I've ever used.I have even tried a few other ionic-tourmaline ceramic dryers, but this one did my hair so much nicer.

good for the money
i used this for the first time today and it definitely dried my hair faster than my old one. i have never owned a ceramic ionic hair dryer before and there does seem to be a difference. it didn't get as hot as my old one...the old one used to feel like it was burning my scalp or neck or hands, this one dries the hair faster without getting as hot! it's lightweight and did a solid job. the true test will be when i dry my daughters very long, very coarse hair!

Decent and Effective
This is a very good hair dryer. I was skeptical of it's ability because it isn't as strong as other ones that I have used. This works extremely well. It actually dries your hair in probably half the time as my last hair dryer. It has a great price also.

The Wife Says "Best Ever" For Her....
This hair dryer is the third in a series of attempts to find the right hair dryer for my wife, who has long thick hair. The first one was a Vidal Sassoon that had ionic technology, but didn't get near hot enough. She was drying her hair for > 20 minutes.The second attempt was the Revlon RV469 ceramic, which was much quieter and got hotter, but didn't have much air flow. Also, it is quite heavy. It was better than the first dryer, but not hair drying nirvana.This dryer (Revlon RV544) has easily cut my wife's drying time in half. She has very thick & long hair, and the high heat setting makes quick work of it. It gets hot enough that I actually tone it down to warm for myself (I have short, thick hair) whenever I have to use the dryer. I think the air flow settings are perfect. The dryer is also nice and light, and fits in a bathroom drawer easily, unlike some of the bulkier models out there.My wife thinks this is the best dryer she has ever...

Singing the praises of the RV544
I cannot say enough good things about this dryer! It dries incredibly quickly, is the lightest I have ever owned, and is very reasonably priced. I was going to buy the T3 Tourmaline for nearly 10 times the price, until I realized the seller would not honor its warantee on products purchased through Amazon. I have forever retired my previous ceramic dryer, which strained my arm so much, I considered installing a bracket on my body to hold it up. Other small details that make a difference: loop for hanging; buttons well-placed so on/off and cold setting are not hit by accident; comfortable to hold by nozzle instead of handle if desired.I first reviewed this product in 2006. I don't use it every day, but it's held up for almost four years. I continue to be pleased with it.

Light and Effective--Great Buy!
I was a skeptic when it came to hairdryers--they all blow air into your hair and it dries, right? Not so! The technology in this hair dryer is tourmaline ionic, meaning it reduces static, frizz, and boosts shine. I had a vidal sassoon before, and a Conair before that, and they were supposedly "ionic" but my hair was still quite a bit frizzy afterwards.This Revlon is amazing, though--my hair is so straight, sleek, and shiny, without having to apply a bunch of creams or shining sprays. It saves a lot of time! It comes with two attachments (diffuser, concentrator)--I've only used the concentrator to straighten my hair and it takes around six minutes and works effectively.Also, a HUGE bonus is its lightweight! The comparable Conair version (nearly same price, ionic) is so so much heavier, while this hairdryer is easy to move, so I can pick it up and use it all over my hair.The only con about this as others have mentioned is that you have to hold it carefully...

My old Conair died so I read all the reviews and decided on this hairdryer. Very satisfied. The weight is good, the attachments are fine, and the price was right! You don't need anything better. I really like the ability to open the cover to get to the mesh filter to clean it and the 3 heat settings and 3 blower settings. A winner!

A must have for frizzy troublesome hair!
I love this dryer. I used a similar one at Planet Hollywood in Vegas and tracked it down when I got home. I have wavy hair that always frizzes into a puff ball when I use a hairdryer. I had switched from my old dryer to the Remington Wet2Straight which I thought was the greatest invention ever, but this dryer quickly replaced it. The key is the high power motor, it gets my entire head dry in less than 10 minutes, with no frizz. A quick run through with a straightener after I'm done is all I need. Plus it's lightweight and quiet. This product saves me at least 15 minutes in the morning that I used to waste getting frustrated with my hair...try it!

Best blow dryer ever!
I never blow dry my hair because I hate the way my hair feels after. It just made my hair a big, uncontrolled mess while damaging it at the same time. I straighten my hair infrequently because it takes me too long (an hour) and the result is straight hair, but not very silky feeling. I got this blow dryer after my sister suggested it to me. I decided to give it a try and invest a bit into a blow dryer. It's worth every penny!!! It takes 10 to 15 minutes to completely dry my hair (I have very thick, medium to long wavy hair). My hair feels silky and soft and looks better than when I straighten it, only taking a quarter of the time! I couldn't stop touching my hair after the first time I used the blow dryer. The concentrator attachment is included (some of the other listings of this same product apparently didn't include it) and is quite useful when using a round brush.You can continue doing your research for a great blow dryer, but there is seriously no need to look...

Best Hair Dryer I've Ever Had!
I bought this hair dryer after my hair stylist had recently purchased one, so I was able to try it before buying it. It has everything I love in how a hair dryer should function: (1) a concentrated air stream that really moves your hair around and dries it quickly, (2) ample temperature and speed selections, and (3) a motor that isn't high pitched or hurts your ears.(1) The airflow is very strong--I don't even have to use the concentrator nozzle on the dryer in order to get the right amount of airflow directed at my hair.(2) There are 3 temperature settings (hot, warm, cool) and 2 speeds (high, low). There is also a cold button you can press and hold at anytime to stop all heat and set your style.(3) Last but not least, the sound of the motor is very low pitched and does not make my ears ring afterwards. So many hair dryers have such high pitched motors that they can really damage your ears. This dryer is excellent in not producing such ear piercing...

Ligthweight and Powerful
Previously I was using the Babyliss 2400 and loved it. Sadly it recently deceased after 7 wonderful years of use. I knew that I would replace it with another Babyliss and decided to give this one a try since the wattage was about the same and the price was right. I thought my previous dry was the best but this one is 10x better. It is powerful and lightweight. Easy to hold so it causes no strain in the wrist or hand. Has a 9 foot cord which is a bonus.I am Latina and have thick, thick hair. The Tourmaline technology dries your hair quicker and leaves it frizz and static free. No one likes the ends of your hair sticking straight up. When using the right brush and hair dryer you can get a finish looked without using other hair appliances. You won't be disappointed.

Great deal for the money
I think this dryer is a great deal for the money, especially with the added features of the retractable cord, folding handle and multiple speed settings. This was my first ionic/ceramic hair dryer and I was not disappointed. There is a real difference from the old style dryers - namely the air coming out is not as hot yet it dries in about the same amount of time or less. While I haven't tried it yet during the humid summer months when my hair frizzes out, right now my hair is unbelievably smooth after drying. I like to use this dryer with my Solia straightener which is also takes away every ounce of frizz. Where were these amazing hair products when I was a teenager??

Great product and the only ceramic, ionic blow dryer with a retractable cord
This is the only ceramic, ionic blow dryer with a retractable cord that I could find on the market and I am very pleased with it. My fiance loves it because the cord doesn't get tangled or clutter up the bathroom counter. I love it because it's a great size and performs well-- drying hair very quickly. The only reason I hesitated from giving it 5 stars is that it is a bit heavy (because of the ceramic core, I suppose). Lastly I think the product could be improved with a more ergonomic handle.

New shine for the ol' mane
As a child of the Sixties, I still wear my hair long and I blow it dry every morning. When my old Hartman Protech 1600 hair dryer hit the bathroom floor, things weren't the same. Eventually, in a spectacular pyrotechnic display, it breathed its last. Since I had paid 20 bucks for it way back when, I was ready to spend that much on a replacement. Much to my surprise, in the 10 or so years I'd owned that dryer, a lot had changed, and now the same money buys a lot more hair dryer, so with some dough to spare, I bought one of these. Many complain that it doesn't pack the same wallop as other dryers but that's a case of perception versus reality. The Conair's barrel has a larger diameter than most dryers and its fan is quieter, so while the perceptible breeze isn't as blustery, it's still moving plenty of air. Some pluses, some minuses
This is my only experience with an ionic hair dryer, so I have nothing with which to compare this one. However, I bought it because I had several expections about its features. Here is how each feature measured up:Quicker? NO. It may even take a little longer than a standard 1875-watt dryer. The reason is that the fan does not blow very hard. The "high" setting blows about like the "low" setting on a standard dryer.Reduced frizz/flyaways/static? YES. These are significantly reduced.Increased shine? YES. My hair is visibly shinier.Quieter? YES, but qualified. The only reason it is quieter is because it doesn't blow air as hard as a regular dryer.Freshens hair? YES. Another drawback: This dryer is very heavy. It took me several days to get used to how heavy it is.This dryer delivers almost all of what ionic hairdryers promise, but I was mostly hoping for a dryer to speed drying time. I like this dryer alot.
I wrote this review 3 years ago. 3/2006 and this dryer is still going strong.This dryer is definitely quieter than most. I purchased it after I dropped my previous Quiet dryer from Conair and the clip that holds on the diffuser broke. No diffuser makes a dryer useless to me. I had to use my back-up dryer (not a Conair, the one time I strayed) for a few days. I could hear the difference when I got this new Conair. It's much quieter and was significantly lighter. I'm not very impressed with the IONIC portion of it, hence the 4 stars. The diffuser is nice and big. It attaches solidly (without clips that can break) and really stays on there. The hanging loop is a big plus too. I will never buy another dryer without one again. I like Conair because they stand the test of time. I've never burnt one out. I need a hair dryer that can take a lot of abuse and Conair's have always been able to do that.I'd like to point out also that I have never tripped a circuit...
