Excellent Curling Iron
I have thin, straight hair, and curls just don't stay in them with curling irons from other manufacturers. My hair dresser used this one day after a hair cut and I was so amazed they stayed in all day that I called her and asked her what kind of gel she used. It turned out all she put in was a leave in conditioner, but she said she just had a really good curling iron and she was right. I've got curls and they stay in without hair products!

I have owned this curling iron for close to 10yrs. now and it is simply the best curling iron I have ever owned/used. It heats fast. It creates wonderful curls. My hair is straight and I tried many different brand names but this curling iron has always produced the best results for me, and I have had my hair at various lenghts over the years. This is a terrific hair dryer!! I've used this model dryer twice a day for about 3 years and finally burned it out. This is my second purchase of the same exact dryer. Hot Tools Hair Dryer
I like the Hair Dryer very much as it is very light. The power is good. My only disappointment is that I thought it had 3 settings for the power. It only has 2, medium and high. I wanted one that also had a Low power setting for finishing. The heat settings are excellent. I had a Wigo and I like this one much better.

great curling iron for hard to curl hair
Sorry for the other reviewer and her charred hair but we've found just the opposite. I have four daughters and we LOVE the hot tools line. We have never been disappointed. The heating control is terrific. Some of my girls have fine hair so we don't need so much heat. Another has courser hair and we need the extra high setting. Not only that, the handle is very easy to hold on to. It is small enough for all size of hands. And (I know this is long--sorry), the end of the barrel where the plastic attaches never gets hot and it is big enough to hold stable so you can control the end and curl long long pieces. Very good design overall. Don't buy something else to save a few bucks. This will last a long time. It is a great product. Thanks.

Unexpected, but very satisfied.
I just received the curling iron about two hours ago, and I was very excited to try it out. I debated about which curling iron to get, and I saw nothing but good reviews for the Hot Tools brand. I wanted something long-lasting, in comparison to the Conair 1-1/2 ceramic barrel curing iron I had, which lasted about 3 years. I mistaken my old curling iron for a 1 inch barrel, so that led me to buy the 1 inch Hot Tools curling iron. I was happy with my 1-1/2, because with my long, thick hair, it gave me loose waves for a more casual look. But in no way am I regretting my accidental purchase, because I'm able to create the same look from that of the 1-1/2 inch curling iron. But now, I also have the option to make tighter curls, which is a plus. While I've only had the product for two hours, I can tell after its first use that this is much different from the rest. Absolutely no hair was stuck to the curling iron, and the curls are smooth. I've used my flat iron to create a more wavy look,...

most amazing curling iron evver made!!!! i have super super thickkk hair. and it curls it soo great. each curl takes up to 10-15 seconds. u only have to curl each piece of hair once. which is great because what girl doesnt want to have healthy hair and protect it from heat dammage as muchas possible. i will never go back to a non-hot tools product.

Exactly what I purchased
Purchased for my college bound daughter, she has been extremely pleased with the dryer. She claims that it does dry her hair faster and with less frizz. The dryer has only been in use for one month but seems to be solid and dependable. The weight of the unit has not been an issue, as some have previously stated.Sept 2010 Update - This unit is still blowing and going. Used on a regular basis the dryer has performed wonderfully since purchasing it in August 2006. My daughter was so thrilled with her dryer that I purchased the same model for myself and it has been in use for over 2 years. If either died tomorrow, we would be hard pressed to replace it with a different model.

A Whole Lotta Power in this Hair Dryer!!
I have super thick hair that normally takes up to 20 minutes to dry. I can honestly say that I can now do it in under 10 minutes flat. This is one of the best hair dryers I have used and would recommend it with out hesitation.

I love it and very happy with the results
I did purchase Hot Tools 1.5" Curling Iron but not thru amazon unfortunately. Instead, I went to a local salon/beauty supply store in my area and paid over $60 for it (because I wanted it right away).My hair is thick and course but choosing the right temperature setting on HT Curling Iron made all the difference. I used a higher setting due to my thick coarse and naturally curly hair. After washing my hair, conditioning, and towel drying it I used hair products in my hair that kept my hair from frizzing and that would leave it shiny and mosturized. Like: "beyond straight" and "Fantasia IC Hair Serum". I then dried my hair with a blow dryer using the cool air setting. The next day before leaving the house I used my HT curling iron and the results turned out wonderfully. My hair kept the curls all day, and the shine and softness for three days after. An almost perfect ceramic iron!
If I had rated this iron right when I got it, it would have been a 5 star - it gets super hot (which I need with curly, thick hair) and gets hot FAST. It's also silky smooth and really glides through your hair - love the cord feature which allows for ease-of-movement. The downside is that since I've had it (1-2 months) the purple coating is totally coming off...and I'd suspect in another few months it will be really bad. I'm not sure if this is do to the product that I wear on my hair - might be - but I can't give it 5 stars when the coating started coming off immediately. Also, the iron doesn't have auto-shut off. Granted, it didn't advertise that it did, but I haven't purchased an iron in the past several years that DIDN'T have this feature so I took for granted that it did. If the coating wasn't coming off and it had auto-shut off, it'd be the best iron ever! That being said, I love the iron so much that I would buy another one when the coating comes off - for the money,...

its ok, until the ceramic burns off
I bought 2 curling irons in the time span of about a little over a year. The ceramic purple coating eventually burns off and fries your hair worse than a regular metal hot tools iron. The coating doesnt last long, if it didn't burn off the coating, this would be a good iron.

Deep waves that last!
This waver is perfect for people with long hair looking for a quick way to get those pretty S-waves usually seen in fashion mags. One word of advice for non-ethnic and ethnic girls alike - use a heat protectant on completely dry hair prior to using this iron. It gets hot - really hot - and could easily burn your hair and destroy your cuticle...Also, make sure you divide your hair into large sections to ensure that "Veronica Lake" deep wave. YouTube has some great videos of people demo-ing this waver and I strongly suggest you watch them prior to purchasing it. All in all, a great product at a great price.

Creates awesome waves, the waves resemble finger waves when you use a lot of hair at a time. Or you can use less hair at a time and create a beautiful wavy look. LOVE it!
This is the best thing I have bought in a while! I have fine straight hair, and this makes my hair curly and adds a lot of volume. I have never received so many compliements on my hair before. It really gives you those big beautiful "beachy" type waves that I have never been able to get from a standard curling iron, or even the old school rollers.
