It colored my hair.
Use this stuff to hide the grays. Works well at first but then as your hair grows and time passes you can notice the colored hairs turning (in my case) turning from black to brown. Unless you plan on using this every 2 weeks which I doubt, this thing is great for short term.. you know high school reunions/weddings..etc. Otherwise be glad you have gray hairs instead of no hair.

Cool- some first time user jitters cleared up here
Its a great product. It seems intimidating at first to use because of this fear created about the dye running all over from the sink to your forehead. Let me calm ur start up anxieties.1) The gloves are provided in the kit- use them.2) Vaseline borders are recommended, but you(huge baldspots may need them-I don't know) really can avoid it. Just keep wet tissues handy for the dye that runs off the hair(expect a couple of spots maybe on forehead and below sideburns). Now the dye solution is thick and not runny so its not really a stain hazard at all. Its also easy to remove from other surfaces(just keep towel or tissue handy no need to cover the basin etc etc).3) After 5minutes it showers of easy. Just run the water a lot through the hair then shampoo.Its a whole lot simpler than it appears. When I read the instruction I almost thought I had to cover all exposed surfaces - really! just keep some tissues and get on with it.

Not perfect, but better than others.
I have been using it since years.I used to use Men's Choice, but switched to this product.At least for me, it gives a more natural color and texture to hair.You can also shampoo the hair immediately after using it, so the dye is not left in the hair to stain the towels and pillows.It does drip a lot, so I try not to apply too much, and soak of any extra liquid on the sides with tissue paper.All hair dyes cause allergy over time in some people. I have some mild itching on the first day that goes away.THE LONGER YOU LEAVE IT IN, THE DARKER WOULD BE THE COLOR.If you leave it longer, that also decreases fading of color between applications.I usually leave it in for at least 15-20 minutes.

does its job
ok, so this product has quite a line of negative reviews. When i first got it, i immediately boxed it up for return. But then i went to Sally Beauty supply, and they sell pretty much the very same kind, no better than this. I looked for other brands online too within this price range and I didn't find anything i liked more. This is of poorish quality mainly because the plastic is a little flimsy, but it serves it purpose for me which is washing my hair on the sink. No leaks so far. Time will tell how long it holds but for the price, its ok.

I love this shampoo!
This is one of the few shampoos I've ever found that doesn't dry out my hair. It is gentle but cleans effectively and is great for everyday use. It doesn't contain those nasty sulfates that most shampoos have, so this does not lather quite as much as "regular" shampoos. But it still lathers just fine and again, it still cleans very effectively. I strongly recommend this product as well as the sunflower conditioner and deep recovery pack. They all smell like apricot (my husband loves the scent when he smells my hair), and I think these products do help dyed hair hold its color longer.

Works great
I bought the strips to test my hair products. I wanted my leave-in conditioner to have a PH between 4 and 5. It's a curly hair thing. Anyway the strips work fine. The range is from 0-14 s there are no 'half steps' like 4.5. But that was fine with me, not doing any scientific experiments or anything. I would recommend these to any layman like myself.

Great for color treated hair
This is a yummy smelling, pretty good conditioner. The best thing about it is that it does not contain chemicals that most inexpensive conditioners do, so it's especially good for color-treated hair. I like Burt's Bees shampoos very much for this same reason.Watch out before you buy it form here, though! It's listed as $12.49 which is a total rip-off - the retail price should be somewhere around $8.

Perfection in a Bottle
I have naturally curly, dry, coarse, LONG hair that I've been color-treating for a decade. Seriously, most horses have nicer manes and tails than I have hair. I have tried everything from cheap fortifying shampoos to expensive salon brands, and this. is. the. stuff. Seriously, my hair has NEVER felt this good, even before I started coloring.You need to be aware that you pretty much HAVE to condition after using this shampoo. I was afraid the first time I used it because my hair felt so incredibly coarse and tangled. I soon realized why -- it was the first time in years that a shampoo had removed deposits from my hair rather than leaving them behind, exposing more of that coarse texture. My hair was actually CLEAN. Really, really clean. It's done nothing to dull my color, and even though the shampoo is extremely thick, it lathers extremely well.I cannot recommend this shampoo enough, when paired with the conditioner. Best shampoo I've ever used
This shampoo truly is the best I've ever used. No other brands even come close to how this makes my hair look, feel and move. Shampoos for dyed hair are made to be gentle, so they won’t strip dye away, and often they have extra moisturizers as well to keep dyed hair from getting a hard, brittle texture. Many women have no experience dyeing their hair different colors until they start using grey hair dye to cover up this natural phenomenon, and there are some tips and tricks you just can’t learn from a box of store-bought dye. In fact, those cosmetics companies probably don’t want you to know how you can extend the life of your dye job , and save yourself a lot of time — but we do. . Buy shampoos that are formulated for dyed hair.

There are ways to prevent grey hair color from appearing, but the causes of grey hair still aren’t wholly understood. Stress, poor nutrition, excessively dyeing hair and even smoking cigarettes can cause grey hair color to appear sooner than it would have otherwise — but genetics also play a part, too. New scientific evidence suggests that hair follicles keep producing melanin even in aged hair. Melanin, the stuff that creates pigment, simply drains out of those follicles to create grey hair color. So, does that mean that premature grey hair color can be blamed on a poor diet.

If you prefer not to spend the money on a salon shampoo, or you’ve colored your hair yourself, you’ll be able to find several brands of color safe shampoo at your local grocery store. If you’re not using a color-enhancing shampoo, however, you’re going to want to stay away from intensely colored shampoos. Dark colors indicate a high level of dye in the shampoo that can soak into your hair shaft, shifting your color to a shade you didn’t want or muddying the clear color you had originally. A quick and easy way to safeguard your color is to use a shampoo created for color treated hair. Any hair color, though, can be affected by the dyes used to add color to shampoo. Just look for words like “color stabilizing”, “color treated”, “processed” or “chemically treated” on the label or in the name of the shampoo. Just as a shampoo that is alkaline will strip your color, so will a shampoo that is acid. The same qualities that make shampoo good at stripping dirt and grease out of your hair also make it the best way to strip out color. No matter how good the shampoo you’re using, the less you use it the better as far as your color treated hair is concerned. Cheap shampoos are usually highly alkaline and will quickly strip the color from your hair. There are sunblocking shampoos on the market that can protect your hair from the ultraviolet rays that fade color and cause sunburns.
